It’s a case of family first in the Malibu, APG's flagship single storey design on display in Burns Beach.

''When we set out to design the Malibu our goal was to design a complete family home perfect for the

WA lifestyle and we feel we've nailed the brief," says Matthew Dragun, Marketing Manager at APG.

Dedicated zones for kids, parents and together time, plus a seamless indoor/outdoor flow are the cornerstones of the design.

"At the heart of the Malibu is the open-plan kitchen, living and dining area," Matthew says.

"It's an area that is functional and promotes family interaction."

In the everyday living space, two sets of stacker doors glide effortlessly away from a column-free comer to open up the inside to the outside. This instantly creates a vast entertaining space that offers lots of flexibility.Floor-to-ceiling cupboards, an integrated dishwasher, a wide cooktop with wok burner, heaps of drawers and a large stone-topped island bench with waterfall ends are all included in the kitchen's contemporary design.

Mum and dad have been treated to a swish master suite with super-high ceilings and windows that provide a fantastic sense of space and an abundance of natural light.

"Combined with a luxurious ensuite and large 'his and hers' walk-in wardrobe, the master suite is perfect for creating the ultimate resort-style parents' retreat," Matthew says.

With functional family living in mind, the designers have added a large activity room with a striking feature skylight in the kids' wing and provided a separate media room for the whole family to enjoy.

They've also placed a handy computer nook between the kitchen and the laundry so laptops and phones can be charged conveniently and homework can be supervised.

As with all APG designs, the Malibu can be fine-tuned for a perfect fit, though Matthew reports that clients who fall for this design rarely make any alterations.

Versions of the Malibu start from $275,947.
