The Chelmsford is a modern two-storey display home with a striking facade, stylish design features throughout and plenty of room for everyone in a family to live, rest and entertain.

This APG Homes display home in Jindalee has an elevation which includes a triple garage and sheltered entry under the long balcony.

Through double timber-and-glass entry doors is a hall with a door to the garage and an open study, handily located to serve as a home office.

A media room which could double as a formal lounge is opposite a powder room and walk-in linen cupboard.

There is storage under the stairs, past which is the expansive open-plan living area.

The covered and semi-enclosed entertaining area has timber decking, a garden on one side and pool on the other, and is big enough to comfortably fit separate seating and dining areas.

There is a stainless-steel outdoor kitchen and a frameless-glass safety fence for the below-ground pool.

APG Homes sales and marketing manager Leo Callisto said the living areas of the home were designed to accommodate a big gathering.

"The objective when designing the area was to extend the home so you create that seamless transition, from outdoors to indoors, and create some outdoor living areas under cover," he said.

All the facilities were outside so people didn't need to keep going in and out.

The dining area also has floor-to-ceiling windows, and the kitchen has windows each side of the exhaust hood.

Other features include a wide underbench oven, gas cooktop, stone benchtops and walk-in pantry.

The laundry opens from the kitchen and has a door outside.

At the top of the stairs is a big activity room, as well as the main suite and three minor bedrooms.

Each of the big minor bedrooms has a double built-in robe.

There is also a walk-in linen cupboard and bathroom with a bath and separate toilet.

The big main suite has a double glass sliding door to the balcony and a three-quarter wall behind the bed.

Behind this wall is the fitted walk-in robe which includes shelving and drawers.

The big, open ensuite has a separate toilet, bath, shower, double vanity with a stack of drawers and big mirror.

This home was an entry in the 2009 HIA-NAB Perth Housing Awards.
