Award-winning, two storey specialists APG Homes has proved this with the launch of its new boutique range of single-level home designs, which were all developed with families in mind.
APG's sales and marketing manager Leo Callisto says the collection was created in response to overwhelming consumer demand for single-storey, family homes with a high level of finish.
"We have utilised our two-storey building experience, including our current professional trades, and applied these skills in a single-storey offering," he says.
Two living spaces, CaesarStone benchtops, high ceilings throughout and quality tiling are just some of the features that buyers can expect.
"Second, third and fourth homebuyers are our target market," Leo says.
"Many of our customers have built two-storey homes with us before and are now keen to build single-level dwellings as part of knock-down and rebuild projects in older, inner-city areas or as a house-and-land package in traditional sub-divisions.
"When you've got land, it's a good, economical option to build a single-storey home and we encourage it. Your build times are considerably shortened too."
Nine boutique designs have just been unveiled, specifically tailored for blocks from 10m to 18m wide.
Prices start from $129,394 for the Haven, a 12m-wide home with a rear garage option.
"Many of the current subdivisions have rear garage options," Leo says.
"Garages can dominate a big part of a home's front façade, especially when building on a narrow lot, and being able to move them to the rear of a property makes for a nice streetscape."
APG Home's current single-storey display homes the asheville in Burns Beach and the southport in Southern River, showcase the versatile floor plans and high specifications that the company is renowned for.
"Two more homes - one north of the river and one on the south - will be open by this time next year," Leo says.
